Ahiakpa lives in Avalavi, a small village in Ghana’s Volta Region. Every day before sunrise, Ahiakpa wakes up and heads directly to her farm. She wants her families to have food on the tables. For Ahiakpa, farming is more than a livelihood. It's her way of fighting hunger and supporting her family.
The Challenges Ahiakpa Faces
Ahiakpa has a rice farm of 4 acres, where she sweats and strives every day to ensure constant food supply for her loved ones. However, food insecurity is a daily reality in Avalavi. Limited resources are not uncommon in the region, which is why she has been committed to tackling food challenges in her community.
Ahiakpa’s Dream

Ahiakpa experiences the poverty in her neighborhood and she is looking for an opportunity to change it.
She has a dream. Ahiakpa dreams of becoming an entrepreneur to support the people she loves and the land she cares for. She hopes to expand her rice farm to 9 acres, so she can increase rice production and secure the food supply for nearby school children.
That’s why she attended our workshop: She wanted to learn how to think like a businesswoman, how to set her vision, and how to realize her goals step by step.
Help Ahiakpa Make Her Dream Come True
With your support, Ahiakpa would be able to expand her rice farm and provide food to local schools, small supermarkets, and even hotels.
Once Ahiakpa becomes an entrepreneur, she will be able to help more mothers and daughters achieve financial independence. She will be able to provide a better future for the next generation.
Let Us Bridge the Gaps Together
This is the ripple effect we, all members of Bridging Gaps, have been working toward. We want to build a bridge for people in need to have a chance to grow, to break through, and to contribute back to their closed ones. A ripple might seem small, but if we continuously create as many ripples as we can, we will one day have a great impact.
