RABENOELY Olynca, Is a single woman from Andapa, Madagascar, seeks a $500 grant to develop and promote ‘‘ecological charcoal’’ as a sustainable alternative to traditional charcoal. Her project aims to combat deforestation, environmental degradation, and climate change, which disproportionately affect women in her region. Traditional charcoal requires cutting down trees (10kg of wood for 1kg of charcoal), accelerating ecological harm.
